John Curry, President

John's family settled in the Mesilla Valley in the 1920's. As a teenager, John began working in construction helping to build new homes, apartments, and commercial buildings. After graduating with honors from New Mexico State University with a degree in accounting, John decided to go into business for himself. At one time, he was the youngest licensed general contractor in New Mexico. As well as being an active member of the Las Cruces Homebuilders Association, John is also a licensed New Mexico Real Estate broker. In 1991, John was honored as the New Mexico HOW Builder of the year. In addition to the "nuts and bolts" side of building, John is well versed in today's financing methods for new homes and apartments and will prepare pro-forma income, depreciation, and cash flow schedules for individuals considering investments in real estate.

John and his wife Karen were teenage sweethearts who now have four children, and five grandchildren. In addition to family time, they are both active in their church and community. John loves the variety found in construction and real estate business, and says that balancing family, business, and his relationship with the Lord is his biggest challenge. Email John at johncurry@johncurry.com.

Karen Curry, Karen Curry Designs

For over three decades, Karen has been working with her husband, John, to bring quality construction to the homebuyers of Las Cruces. John is responsible for construction and sales while Karen tends the interior merchandising.

Born and raised in Las Cruces, Karen attended Mayfield High School and New Mexico State University. She has completed studies with the New Mexico Real Estate Institute and is licensed to sell real estate in New Mexico. Karen has studied interior design and home planning and has attended a number of courses on new home merchandising by the National Association of Homebuilders. She has also attended classes by the American Society of Interior Design, and is a professional member of the A.S.I.D. As one of the few licensed Interior Designers in New Mexico, she has met the stringent education and experience requirements imposed by the state for licensure.

Karen's education and experience have enabled her to work knowledgably with clients in coordinating the interior design and color selections in literally hundreds of Las Cruces homes and commercial projects. Karen says, "I really enjoy helping people develop their ideas and create an interior climate that is both exciting and affordable--something they will enjoy working in during the day or coming home to in the evening." The busy mother of four and grandma of five, Karen is also active in the community and University Presbyterian Church.
